DIY Bronze Plant Pot with Succulents

DIY painted plant pot bronze succulent

Hey everyone! Hope you're all well! I've had quite a nice weekend, I went to the pub on Friday with some people from work and then I ended up going home to visit my family the next day which was really nice :) I decided to try and do a little DIY since I was at home and had all of my crafty things however it took much longer than I thought it would haha despite it being so simple! I also kind of underestimated how long it would take for each layer to dry but never mind, better late than never! :)

To make this DIY you will need:

Plant pots
Succulents/Cacti etc
White Paint
Metallic Paint
Extra Soil
Blu-tack
Paintbrush

I started off with painting the whole pots white. I ended up starting from the base and working up before painting inside, that way the bottom was relatively dry before I put it down on the work surface. I was too impatient to do it in 2 go's haha :) And I did 2 coats of white paint.

I then failed at using the metallic paint. I basically picked up some rustoleum as that's all that they had and it had separated and looked really weird. So I mixed it for ages but it just wouldn't combine so I tried painting with it anyway but it just wouldn't work so I ended up washing it off and starting again :') and then with my failed attempt the paint started mixing a bit better and by the time I got to the 3rd pot it was fine.. it caused me so much stress and I nearly gave up but I'm glad I got there in the end.. stupid paint and stupid Nev haha! :) And then I had to leave it to try for about 4-5 hours.. looong :')

Once my paint was finally dry I put a blob of blu-tack in the bottom of my pot where the hole is. I then transferred the succulents to the pot and filled in the edges with extra soil and tadaa! I think they look so cute and they're actually really simple to make! :)

I also made a little video showing how I did this DIY :)

  10. This is such a sweet DIY - I'm also finding myself reaching for the paint/spray in this new season! Anything that involves gold, rose gold or bronze is good in my book haha :) The metallic addition to these pots makes a world of difference - great job!!
