Paisley Dress

Paisley Dress Retro 60s Peacocks Style

Hey everyone! Hope you're all well! Today I thought I would share with you this pretty dress that I picked up in Peacocks for £16.20! (with 10% student discount) I've seen these kind of dresses everywhere but I've finally found one that cinches in at the waist :)

The dress is a pretty sheer material and it has a really lovely pattern. The only bit I'm not too keen on is that it has a sort of dipped hem thing going on.. I'd rather it was the same length all the way round but I'm just fussy XD I decided to keep the rest of my outfit simple with black tights and little black heeled booties :)

Halloween Orange Mummy Biscuits

Halloween Mummy Gingerbread men Pinterest Recipe Orange Butter Biscuits Cookies

Hey everyone! Seeing as it's nearing towards Halloween I thought I would do a little baking recipe. I spent days scouring the internet and Pinterest and I even made a pinterest board with ideas but I didn't really fancy any of them. I don't know why but I've been fussy XD I didn't fancy anything with cream cheese and I didn't really want to use artificial colouring etc so I thought I would make a recipe similar to something I've done before but use orange instead of lemon. Also who even makes half of the stuff on Pinterest.. professionals.. how is anyone meant to recreate them! :') I did want to do skeletons but I didn't have anything small enough to pipe the icing so I drizzled it instead and I'm loosely passing them off as mummies haha! :)

Ingredients:

175g butter
75g caster sugar
175g plain flour
75g cornflour
Orange (rind and juice)
Icing sugar

Method:

  1. Preheat the oven to gas mark 4.
  2. Whisk the butter and sugar together. Sift in both flours, add orange zest and mix together with a wooden spoon.
  3. Roll out onto a lightly floured surface and cut out your desired shapes.
  4. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden and firm to touch.
  5. Take out of the oven and leave to cool down before moving them or they fall apart (whoopsy!)
  6. Mix icing sugar and orange to make the icing. I did it roughly until I got a consistency I was happy with.
  7. Decorate your biscuits and enjoy! :)

So that was my slightly failed attempt at Halloween biscuits haha! They're still really yummy though and so easy to make! Which is why I keep going back to this recipe. Have you made any halloween things? I'd love to see them, they're probably much better than mine haha! :)

Grey Crepe Coats and Miglio Jewellery*

Grey Crepe Coat Primark Miglio Jewellery Review

Hey everyone! Hope you're all well! I've now finished two whole weeks of my PhD and I'm really enjoying it! I've also settled into my flat and I feel like a proper grown up XD Last week there was a student shopping event in town so I headed along, although it was soooo busy so my friend and I ended up in Primark as it was surprisingly empty and I bought a few goodies, one being this pretty, grey coat. I was also gifted a pretty necklace from Miglio when I went to #BLFW so I thought they would go perfectly together :)

I really liked this coat when I saw it, it's a really nice... crepe material? So it has a slight texture. As my mum rightly pointed out it doesn't have any lining so it's probably not the warmest and is only for Spring/Autumn but it's still nice and it was only £23! It comes to just above my knee, I do wish it was a tiny bit shorter and I do wish that I was at least a little bit taller but nevermind :') Gives me an excuse to wear heels not that I need one I'm so short haha and I'm currently on the lookout for some plain black heeled boots which would go nicely :)

To keep with the simple and classic look I borrowed (stole) mum's shirt which is quite old from Dorothy Perkins :') Sorry mum haha! She's a size bigger than me so it's a bit baggier but I thought it looked nice.. Maybe I should buy my own one haha but other peoples stuff are always so much nicer XD I then paired with my trusty H&M jeans and some black heels from Deichmann. When I was looking through the photos I realised that I forgot to put on my watch and bracelet.. forever forgetful haha :)

A while ago I was gifted this *pendant and necklace (not worn) from Miglio, who are an online jewellers and they have lovely jewellery. The pendant is so cute and I love the little detailing. It came with a leather necklace however I found that it was a bit of an awkward length on me as it was too long but not long enough to be a long necklace :') So I just paired it with a plain black necklace that I already had. I feel like it would also look super cute as a choker but I'm not cool enough to pull it off haha :)

Messonghi Beach Resort, Corfu, Greece

Messonghi Beach Resort Hotel Corfu Greece Exploring

Hey everyone! Hope you're all well! I finally have internet wahoo! It's been such a pain not having any, and I know it's such a silly thing but it's crazy how dependent we all are on technology etc. I wanted to share with you all some photos from my recent holiday to Corfu. I went with mum and we had a lovely time and it was so nice to sit and relax and do nothing for a week :)

We booked a veryyy last minute holiday through Travel Republic. We booked it Saturday evening and left Monday morning haha! I was actually really impressed with the flight, we flew with Small Planet Airways and I was surprised that we got food on it. On the way there it was a morning flight so we got Breakfast which included eggs, sausages, hash browns and beans, there was also some fruit, crackers and dairylea cheese and a little orange juice! So much! They brought round little breads and they also offered drinks, the selection wasn't huge but they had champagne which I thought was so weird! As well as like water, orange juice, tea and coffee. After breakfast they brought round a hot towel and then closer to arrivals they brought round hard boiled sweets. I was very pleasantly surprised. On the way back it was more dinner, so there was chicken with vegetables and a sticky toffee pudding and instead of champagne they offered wine :)

We stayed at Messonghi Beach Resort and the hotel was actually quite nice, it was a 3 star hotel but it had everything that we needed and it was clean which I think is really important. The decor was a bit basic but we didn't mind as it's not a priority really and we thought it was good value for your money. The resort was also huge! We weren't expecting it to be so big! There were a few swimming pools and it was right on the beach. We also opted for all inclusive so we ate loads and our drinks were included :) There was also entertainment in the evenings which were good most nights. The only things that I'd say could be better was that you have to pay to use their WiFi and you have to pay to use the sunloungers on the beach whereas the ones at the pool are free so we just laid there and then walked over for a dip in the sea :)

One day we decided to get the bus to Corfu town. We got a green bus from outside our hotel and the journey was around 45 minutes, then we explored town and hopped on the bus back :) We visited the fortress and walked through the marketplaces and basically explored the whole town which was quite cool :) Annoyingly as we got to the fortress below it started raining :') Then when we finally climbed to the top it stopped XD It was still pretty cool though :)

As we went at the end of September the weather was still pleasant but a bit on the cooler side. It was around 27C I think but it did rain for a few days, typical! Haha! There were huge thunderstorms which were cool but scary. But we managed to get some sunbathing in anyway. Apparantly Corfu is a very green island as it rains a lot :') Have you ever been before? :)
