Hey everyone! Hope you're all well! It was my birthday on Sunday! I had a really lovely weekend, it was quite relaxed and I spent it with family and I ate so much food and cake and I'm still eating leftover cake and feeling slightly sick haha! I think I will be eating only vegetables for the next month XD
I was recently contacted by Preen.Me to review some L'Oreal Studio Pro products as part of their #WhoDoYouWantToBeToday campaign so I thought I would curl my hair and see how they compare to my usual products. I will usually do my hair super curly and then by the time I take my outfit photos I've been playing around with it for a while and the curls drop out more but this is basically how it looks straight after curling XD There's a photo on my Instagram of my hair after a few hours which is a bit less crazy than these photos haha :)
I started off by using the *Heat It Hot & Go Heat Spray and sprayed it through the lengths of my hair. Of the 3 products I used for this look I liked this one the most and I think it would be the one that I would always grab if I was going to heat my hair as I always like to protect it whereas sometimes I will skip using other products, depending on what kind of look I'm going for.
The only thing I didn't really like about the heat protecting products was that there were specific sprays/creams etc for different styles. So if you wanted a sleek and straight look or like a curly one.. which I guess is good but then it also means that you'd have a few similar products and then I end up overthinking which one would be the most suitable.. Maybe it's just me haha! But I'm usually used to a normal heat protecting serum so this kind of threw me a bit haha :)
Next I used the *Boost it Volume Mousse in my roots. I thought this was okay but I don't think I would keep doing this as I'm really happy with my V05 give me texture texturising spray at the moment. So personally I don't think it would beat that at least for me and for my hair. The first time I tried using this mousse I ended up putting too much and had to wash it out and start again and even then I should have used less. I had quite a nice texture to my hair however it felt producty and by the 3rd day I had to use dry shampoo and have it up which I don't usually have to do. This time round I didn't use enough mousse and so I hardly had any hold or volume at my roots which was a bit annoying.. It's probably just me though and it's trial and error :)
I think all of the products in this collection smell really nice and they're all affordable. When I need hair products I tend to go to Superdrug, see what's on offer and what's pink and grab that haha! So I'm currently using some V05 products and I really like them. I kind of feel like they're a bit 'gentler' and you can build them up whereas I feel like the Studio Pro products would be awesome if you had some killer beehive to hold haha. But I think in moderation they can be used for general everday styling :) I personally think that the packaging is a bit bold and I wouldn't really be drawn to them in the shop, just because I'm basic and I like pink packaging haha.
I used my Babyliss curling wand which is my go to curling tool and I pretty much curled all of my hair from the root. Once it was all curled, I let it cool down before brushing through my hair to soften it a little bit and then I used the *Extra Strong Lock it Hairspray. I think this hairspray is good however I would definitely say it's Extra Strong! I always pick the extra strong ones as I weirdly feel they're worth your money more however I find they're usually all the same. This one is strong and the first time I did it I sprayed it how I would normally spray hairspray and it was too much and too close to my head and I basically immortalised a huge section of my hair :') Those curls were perfect for days but I can't say I like having crisp curls haha! So this time round I knew to spray less and be a bit more cautious haha :)
So those were the products I used for this hair look. Overall I would probably use the heat spray and hairspray as they're quite generic hair products and I thought they worked well however I will stick to my texturising spray on my roots as I prefer how that looks and feels :) Thanks for reading and thank you L'Oreal and Preen.Me for sending me these products :)
*These products were sent to me free of charge however all opinions are 100% my own :)

I also did a little video tutorial. Annoyingly, I should have left my hair for a few hours so it would look how it usually does in my outfit photos but I didn't think of this :')

Your hair looks great right after curling it; I love the tighter look! I usually do the same thing and just let my curls get looser and looser as the day goes on. :)

You look gorgeous! I wish I was that good at styling my hair. Mine seems to be the opposite of yours - if I straighten it, it will usually start to wave again after a few hours!

You look stunningly beautiful with curly hair. It really suits you. Your hair is very healthy and thick so when you curl it, its true volume really shows. I think that girls with thick hair always look good with curly hair- but the tricky part is that thick hair is actually hard to curl. Fortunately, there are many products to help us today. These L'oreal products seem great!
ReplyDeleteAmazing curly result!!
