Hey everyone! I hope you're all well! I've had quite a busy and productive week, and there has been a lot of eating involved XD On Monday we had our Christmas dinner, on Wednesday we had a birthday buffet for a colleague at work, Thursday work gave us double pizza for lunch and after a seminar at the end of the day, Friday I went out for drinks and then yesterday I went out for dinner with a PhD friend :) Luckily I managed to slot in a few gym sessions but I think December is just meant for eating and getting fat XD
So for our work Christmas dinner we went to Bill's in the new part of West Quay in Southampton and I had a really nice time and I was really happy with my food choices! I pre-ordered online and everything went smoothly on the day. I thought the atmosphere was nice although maybe a little bit noisy so you could only really speak to the people directly next to you or in front of you, but I guess that can be common in restaurants, especially around Christmas :) And they'd put crackers and name cards with our orders on which I always think is a really cute touch :)
I was a little bit apprehensive beforehand, where I have an onion intolerance it does make eating out quite difficult and it's been a few times where I haven't specified that it also includes onion powder as I thought it was obvious and they'd poured gravy over my entire meal. But everything was fine in the end here, there were some emails back and forth and on the day they double checked my order with me and they were very accommodating and gave me a few options from either the Christmas menu or their normal menu that either didn't contain onions or they could easily adapt for me which I was very grateful for!
For my starter I ended up having the roasted butternut squash and lentil salad with pomegranate and lemon dressing from the normal menu and I really enjoyed it! I'll have to try and make something similar for lunch :) For my main meal I had the Camembert and Bacon Beef Burger without the chutney and with fries which was an absolute beast but I really enjoyed it! It was such a yummy combination! Finally for dessert I had the Chocolate Orange Bread and Butter Pudding which was a good choice and I really enjoyed that too! Most of the group ordered the Christmas Pudding Eton Mess but they only ate about half as it was very sweet :)

So afterwards, I had a happy belly but I was so extremely full! I was still full the next morning and I couldn't eat until lunch XD So that was my experience with Bill's and I was quite happy with it! :)

Food look so delicious:-) I had very nice Christmas dinner with my co-workers also :-)
ReplyDeleteIt was too late for me to realize that my six-year-old marriage was only an episode, I feel that I try every time to convince my husband to love, commit and respect me as the queen of his heart but time worsened everything, he never changes to becoming the man I once fell in love with despite my humanly efforts.
ReplyDeleteI was encouraged to share this review eight month after my husband’s loyalty was restored by a man I call my spiritual father; dr. wakina {dr.wakinalovetemple@gmail.com}. My spiritual father practically made our hearts unbreakable and our love 10 times stronger. We have been enjoying the benefits of his spell on us.
Hope you are encouraged never to let go after reading this review? Note that there is hope and love on the other side only if you begin now to fight for the future. Thanks for your time.

Eating out can be a real challenge when one has a food intolerance. I stay away from onion too, because of Chron disease. Anyhow, great to hear you managed to clear all that out in the reservation process. Restaurants need to be really mindful of requests like that, because food intolerance & allergies can really ruins one's evening.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year! I wish you all the best!
P.S. Sorry I haven't stopped by in ages, I was in away from blogging for months.
