*Body Shop Japanese Match Tea Face Mask #DareToMask

Hey everyone! I hope you're all well! I've had a busy week writing my transfer thesis and it's very nearly done, which is good as it's dragged on for ages! It's currently with my supervisors so I'm waiting for their feedback before I make the final set of corrections so fingers crossed! :)

Today I thought I would have a little pamper day to myself before my birthday tomorrow! I recently won this face mask in a Body Shop competition as part of their #DareToMask campaign and it came at the perfect time! So today I washed my hair, brushed it for once haha and put some argan oil through the ends, full body moisturised (something I should probably do everyday with my dry skin but I never do), sorted out my eyebrows, did a face mask and I'm currently painting my nails and eating chocolate, perfect haha! :)

I have to admit, face masks are not really part of my usual skincare routine and I tend to use them occassionally if my skin is looking a bit rubbish or if I'm with the girls or having some pamper time to myself or usually if my skin needs it I will put my Clinique overnight mask on which is basically a thicker moisturiser :) So when this face mask came through the door I was really excited to try it out!

Body Shop Matcha Tea Face Mask Review

So the Japanese Matcha Tea Pollution Cleansing Mask* comes in a little 50ml jar and it costs £16 at The Body Shop which isn't actually that bad. At first I was a bit skeptical about whether I would like it and whether I would pay £16 myself for a face mask considering I don't really use them and I use moisturiser every day so I feel like I don't need to justify spending £36 on my Clinique moisturiser  and I gladly repurchase that without hesitation. But I tried the mask and afterwards my skin looked and felt amazing! I was actually so surprised at how good it looked and I couldn't stop looking at my skin! So I'm actually really impressed so I am going to be adding it to my skincare routine XD

The texture of the mask is like a mousse I would say, it's very light and it applies really nicely. You have to apply quite a bit to have an even green layer but if you can live without that you can get away with using less. I think it smells really nice, it's very fresh and not overpowering at all and it's very pleasant on your skin :) It has a slight cooling effect which is nice because then it makes you feel like it's actually doing something. So I just applied a thin layer, left it on for 5 minutes and washed it off and I gently rubbed it in circular motions to exfoliate my face a bit. It washes off nicely and it doesn't dry your skin out afterwards which I really liked! And I was actually so impressed with how fresh and nice my skin looked afterwards after just one use!

The Body Shop Japanese Matcha Pollution Cleansing Mask Review

The Body Shop recommends to use to the mask a few times a week however I'm too lazy for that so I try and use it once a week or every other week especially now that the weather is getting colder and I personally think that more often might be a bit excessive with my skin especially if the rest of my skincare routine is working fine. Depending on how thick you apply it I think you should be able to get a lot of uses out of it, however if you're applying it thickly and using it a few times a week it probably won't last too long :)

So those are my thoughts on the Japanese Matcha Tea face mask and I was pleasantly surprised by it! I've definitely started to incorporate it into my skincare routine and I love how my skin looks and feels afterwards :) I've got my eye on their other masks to try next and if there's an offer on I feel like I wouldn't have to justify buying it to myself at all! :)

*This face mask was sent to me courtesy of The Body Shop, however all opinions are 100% my own :)
