Hey everyone! I hope you're all well! I'm doing okay, I finished off some experiments in the lab during the week and I've been busy writing my transfer thesis.. I've currently done the first draft of my methods which is the easiest bit and now I need to move on to the harder parts XD
Today I thought I would share with you some photos from what mum and I ended up making during our crafty days :) So I wanted some lavender bags to put in my room back home and my room at uni/work/PhD land so I drew a few designs and started making them with my mum :) I ended up being the designer and did some of the simpler tasks like choosing fabrics, drawing and cutting them out and mum was the main labourer hehe sorry mum, only because she's more experienced than I am so she's neater at it :) I did cross-stitch the simpler heart though but mum did the more complicated one and did all of the sewing machine parts etc :)
So these are the finished lavender bags! I'm not going to lie by the end of the day we were sick of the smell of lavender :') but at least it's a nice scent :) I cut out the fabric for a flower one but unfortunately I had to go back to work so mum's waiting for me to come back so we can make it together :) We had a really nice time and I've been chasing her for years to make things together so I guess I'm actually quite grateful that I had my ankles injected and I had to rest at home so that we could sit and make things together, because who knows when it would have happened :)

Oh these are lovely! I love the heart shaped ones and the one with the little bird on it, so cute and I bet they smell lovely too. Just the kind of thing you need for your room to brighten it up as we move into spring as well! - Tasha
ReplyDeleteThese lavender bags look great! The designs are very versatile. I really like the traditional ones, but the one with the bird patch is also lovely. I make lavender bags too. I have them in all shapes and sizes. It is a fun thing to do, plus it makes for a nice gift, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteSo nice you got to spend some time with your mother. It must have been fun working on those bags together....plus, lavender supposedly has all these beneficial and relaxing properties.
