Biosoc Winter Ball

11th December 2013

The Bio department at Uni were throwing a Masquerade Ball during the last week of this semester. Originally I wasn't going to go as a few of my friends were going on a social but I texted one of my best friends at uni on the day asking whether she wanted to go as all my work had been handed in. We then decided to go very last minute :) Any excuse to dress up! :) I decided to wear my black velvet dress.

The Ball was at Wild Lime and it was a really nice evening :) Catherine got ready at mine and we headed off together to the Ball :) We were able to pay on the door and received a complementary glass of champagne :) It felt so classy with everyone in suits, dresses and masks, sipping away at wine :) We both had a really nice night and we got chatting to some people from our course :) So glad we decided to go last minute :)
Have you had any end of term parties or socials? :)

Christmas Meal

9th December 2013

During our last week of the semester the girls and I decided to go for a Christmas meal to celebrate the end of term :) I'd finished all my assignments due for the end of the week the weekend before so I was excited to go out and not be constantly working. We all got dressed up and decided to go to Wild Lime in the high street. The food was okay but the service wasn't that great as we were in the corner and they'd forgotten about us. We all had a nice girly chat and catch up nonetheless :) It was really nice to have a nice meal and wine and get dressed up :) Definitely need to do more of these nights next year :)

Fur Fur Fur

I've always wanted a fur coat so when mum spotted this one from Next I decided to get it :) It is soooo warm! I feel like a snuggley bear! Perfect for winter and this cold weather! :) At first I wasn't sure about it but it's so soft and I like it being oversized as it makes it warmer :)
What do you think? Will you be wearing faux fur this winter? :)

Caaake!

I have such a sweet tooth and I love making cakes and cookies and everything really :)
Mum knows this super easy recipe so I thought I would give it a go on the weekend! Here's the recipe and you must try it because it's so quick and easy and super yummy! :)

Ingredients:
200g Greek Style Yoghurt
150g Strawberries and Blueberries
4tbs Sugar
Lady Fingers
Birds Dream Topping
150ml Milk

Method:
  1. Chop up the fruit.
  2. Mix together the yoghurt and sugar and then add in the fruit.
  3. Put a small layer of the mixture on the bottom of your dish.
  4. Make a layer of lady fingers.
  5. Add another layer of fruit and yoghurt mix.
  6. Make a second layer of lady fingers.
  7. Add the rest of the fruit and yoghurt mixture.
  8. Follow the instructions on the Dream topping and make it, then smooth it over the cake.
  9. Put it in the fridge to chill and it's done!
Chop up the fruit :)
Mix it all together :)
Layer it up and fiiiniished :)
So quick and easy and it's perfect for summer as it's light and healthy because it has fruit in it :) Or you can make it whenever as you don't need an oven and it's simple to make. Just multiply the yoghurt, sugar and fruit if you want to make a bigger cake :) I multiplied mine by 2 and mum usually makes 3 times the ingredients :)

Enjoy! :)

Heart Box Template Pinterest Valentine's Day Anniversary
So Cute!
So I was procrastinating earlier as you do.. when I came across the template to a cute little box and I thought I had to try it! :) The website I originally found the photo on no longer exists so below I took apart my box and made the template for you XD
It was so simple to make! So here's a super easy and quick DIY :)

Finished! :)
  1.  Print or draw the template onto the desired paper. I chose green :)
  2. Cut along all the edges of the template
  3. Fold along all of the lines. I used a ruler to make neater edges and I find this easier.
  4. Glue all the tabs together and your box is complete!
Super quick and easy! :) To make it more sturdy use card instead of paper :)
Try it out and make sure you send me a link so I can see :)

Crochet Peter Pan Necklace

5th July 2013
The little crochet flowers
Everything pinned down
The final thing! :)
With all my spare time I felt like learning something new. Mum's always been good at crafts so I asked her to teach me how to crochet. I'd been looking at crochet tops online and thought it would be really cool if I could make one. Initially I was not good at all :') Mum said maybe its better to stick to something you know, as a joke :L But I kept practicing just crocheting random squares and practicing different stitches. I was looking at peter pan collars online and thought to make one with little crochet flowers. After finding a tutorial on Julie's blog at http://www.kundhi.com/blog/2012/05/01/tiny-crochet-flower-pattern/ on how to make tiny crochet flowers I started crocheting away :) Took me 2 days, took forever. Although in the end I'm really pleased! Considering I'm a complete beginner I'm really happy with how it came out! So cute!

Since I've been home from Uni I've been a bit bored so mum thought up for me to paint the little wooden stool that we have lying around the house. Of course mum had left it to get all weathered outside so it needed a bit of fixing up. Mum took the stool apart, sanded it down, cleaned it then gave it to me to think about how to paint it. I haven't painted in years so I was a bit hesitant. In the end I decided to go for a Serbian Etno theme and to draw some traditional flowers that are used a lot in Serbian folklore. I used the design from one of my waistcoats we bought when I was about 6. I spent 2 days painting the chair, so long XD It was so fiddly and I had to do 3 layers of each colour as it kept soaking into the wood, felt like a child struggling to keep into the lines, But I'm really happy with how it came out in the end!

Finished card :)
Now that I don't have Uni over the Summer and passed all my exams so no resits, yays! Means I have a lot of spare time on my hands. I've got a whole wardrobe full of things for making cards yet I never have the time. So I decided to use up some of my free time where I'm just eating all day and being lazy. I like making cards but I always find I mess it up right at the end :') whether it be with the glue or making it slightly wonky, too much of a perfectionist XD But I'm slowly learning, and this is what came out at the end. :)
