Monochrome Dress with a Red Lip

Hey everyone! Hope you're all well! I feel like all of my weeks are just blurring by as it's a similar routine every week and before I know it, it's the weekend again! Two of my best friends came round to visit this weekend and we had a lovely little catch up! Then during labs this past week I did a transfection. I basically have a gene of interest which I inserted into circular DNA (plasmid) and I put it into bacterial cells so they'd grow up loads up my DNA for me, I then extracted this DNA and mutated a few different base pairs. On Thursday I tried to insert this "bacterial" DNA into human cells and hopefully they took it up into their cells and expressed my gene of interest. So on Monday I am going to find out whether it actually worked or not and if there are any interesting results, so fingers crossed!

Embroidery Dresses

Hey everyone! Hope you're all well! Labs are pretty much back in full swing so the long grueling days of DNA extractions have started again. I have to extract DNA from 350 samples and I'm currently on 230 I'm nearly there :') It's a bit of a pain as I can only really do 12 samples in a day and it takes forever!I should be done in the next few weeks though and then it's on to the next step :) 

Afternoon Tea | Windsor

Hey everyone! Happy Easter! I hope you're all having a lovely weekend and you're eating lots of chocolate and yummy food! Friday evening I ended up booking a last minute holiday to Prague for Monday which I'm really excited about although I'm finding it difficult to plan what to wear and what coats to take as I don't want to be too hot or cold.. and I want to wear pretty dresses and skirts but I also want to be comfy and to be able to walk although so it looks like trainers and casual outfits for me XD

Today, my best friends and I went to Windsor for Afternoon Tea which was good fun and we chatted for hours with our full bellies :) Lab work is going well although I'm quite tired now so I'm looking forward to my week off over Easter! 

Asos Red Asymmetrical Dress

Hey everyone! Hope you're all well! This week in labs I've started doing some tissue culture, so I have some cancerous bone cells (they are near enough immortal so they will keep replicating without coming to the end of their cycle like normal cells do) so I'm just learning how to grow them up and culture them and to use a microscope as I am useless with the thing haha! But it's going well so far.. I'll let you know if I have managed to kill them next week haha!

Burgundy Skirts

Hey everyone! Hope you're all well! And Happy Mother's Day! :) This week I was feeling really poorly so I ended up going home home so mum could look after me as I'm a big baby haha! She made me tea and chicken soup and now I'm feeling much better but I still have an annoying sniffly nose! Even though I was ill it was actually really nice to take a break from my PhD as I've been feeling a bit overwhelmed recently.. I don't think I'm used to working long days so by the time I get home I'm tired and by the time I've made dinner etc it's nearly time for bed :') So I'm struggling to fit everything in, I just need to somehow organise my life haha (I don't know how other people do it and fit everything in). But that's enough of me moaning! :)
