The Blue Tartan Skirt

Tartan is a trend I never thought I would follow. It always seems to remind me of kilts (surprise surprise) or of school girl outfits/ clothes I wore as a child. Anways, it's been creeping in over the years and I've secretly admired people pulling off tartan, aka my best friend Ruth. As I was shopping a few weeks ago with mum she spotted this lovely skirt, I wasn't sure if I could pull it off, but usually things mum picks out always turn out to be one of my favourites or end up looking really nice! :)

Top, coat and tights- Primark, Skirt- New Look, Boots- Dorothy Perkins

I would have preferred it to be a tiny bit tighter, I can hear mum in my head being like 'Everything doesn't have to be super tight!' ... Yes mum :') So this skirt is from New Look, and it was around £15 I think! So with student discount I thought it was a really good price! I bought the bardot top from Primark for only £4! Bargain! and then wore it with my new black suede boots from Dorothy Perkins and a very old coat from Primark and obviously tights as it's getting chilly :)

Freshers Take 3- Monday

Carrying on with my little Freshers series, on Monday I went to the gym again during the day and Catherine moved in so our little house was complete! :) In the evening Hannah, Catherine and I headed off to Turtle Bay, a really nice Caribbean Restaurant and they do 2 for 1 on cocktails at certain times, before going to Switch. Switch used to be Provenance back when I was in first year and I absolutely loved it then! It felt good to be back, the only downside was the music was a bit off at times, but I guess everyone's taste is different :) Drinks wise it wasn't as hectic as my birthday and yeah it was really nice to go out and have a dance and it was nice to go some place a bit fancier for predrinks :) Starting off Freshers week in style! XD

Freshers Take 3- The Weekend

I'm back at Uni! And it's my final year, it's gone craaaaazy quick it's unreal! So what better way than to make most of our 'Freshers' experience than going out again, for the last time! :') We decided to do it properly seeing as it was our last time and to make the most of the free time until lectures and workloads start piling up, woo XD

I moved in quite late on Saturday, I brought sooo much stuff with me, I don't even know how! As some of it didn't even fit in the car, I think I have a problem. By the time I unpacked the car and went to Sainsbury's to rinse mum of her money, I was so tired and it was nearly time for bed XD So instead Hannah and I snuggled and watched a movie and then went to bed :)

Sunday, I met Ali to go to the gym, while we were passing campus there were free tombola stalls, we tried to knock tin cans down and failed miserably, it was so embarrassing! But then I managed to hook the lucky duck and won a toy duck haha! There was also a free photobooth so we managed to snap some pictures which was nice! :)

In the evening, Ali, Adina and I went to the pub for a few drinks and to catch up. We drank Juicy Lucy's which were pretty much bogey/vomit green although they tasted quite nice!

Overall it was a pretty chilled weekend , moving in, catching up and waiting for everyone else to arrive :) It's so weird I can still remember when I moved in 2 years ago and I miss it quite a bit, the buzz and the excitement, I don't want to get old XD

Alex's 20th at the Slug and Lettuce

During the last weekend of August, we all went to the Slug and Lettuce in Richmond for Alex's birthday, following on from the joint birthday celebrations at Hippodrome the weekend before. It was nice that it was in Richmond, on the river, but it was less busy than Staines, and I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not but it was really nice either way. It meant we didn't have to shout to be heard. :)

The girls opted for cocktails, whilst the boys were boring and went for beer. I chose 'Dune Bug' which is maybe one of my favourites at the slug, annoyingly it wasn't 2 for 1 on cocktails but we can't be too fussy! :) I had a nice catch up with everyone and we've all gone back to Uni so we won't be seeing each other for a while, so it was really good to see them before we all went!

I wore plain leggings and little booties from Deichmann. They're the only shop so far that I've found in England that sells size 2.5 heels! Darn you small feet! haha :) I also wore it with a turquoise satin top that my cousin gave me. I really like the colour although I was so careful all night not to catch it or spill anything on it, it's a bit too delicate for my liking! But it's pretty nonetheless :)

Chocolate cake for Freddie's 20th

The amazing birthday cake!

August meant that the last of the guys were turning 20. It's so weird that they only just turned 20 and a little more than a month later I'm going to be turning 21. 21. what the hell. Haha I am no were near old enough :') I still look like a 15 year old! Never mind :)

All the guys had a joint night out at Hippodrome for their birthday and then on Sunday, for Freddie's actual birthday he threw a party round his house, it was a nice chilled evening with a few drinks and Lucy and I even had a shot at Fifa. I suck so bad! It was close but she beat me during penalties XD The highlight was the cake which Lucy made and the decoration turned out really well! :) Sadly we didn't take many photos during the night and not everyone got in the photos :)

Seeing as it was a chilled night round Freddies I decided to keep my outfit casual so I wore my checkered leggings from Primark. These are probably some of my favourite bottoms at the moment, I also have them in blue I couldn't resist! Haha, and then I teamed it with a black top from H&M, I was thinking about wearing a crop top but went for something a bit more baggy and slouchy and teamed it with my gold necklace also from H&M. Then keeping with the casual theme I wore my Converse from Cloggs :)

Piccadilly Institute

Following on from my busy weekend three weeks ago when I went to Hippodrome, Megan turned 18, so the next day we all went up to London to celebrate. We went to Picadilly Institute and we had a great night actually! The girls looked super pretty and we went for some casual drinks. Due to us living in awkward towns where public transport stops at 12:30 we decided to get the tube there and back :) Even though we were there for a few hours we managed to have a few drinks and dance and have a great night! I guess we made the most of what time we had :)

Coctails!

It was so weird arriving at Picadilly Circus and it being so busy! Everything was lit up and it was so so busy everywhere! It makes where we live seem like the countryside haha! It does make it more exciting and it was nice to do something different compared to going to the clubs in Kingston that we always go to. :) The club was quite nice, each of the rooms were differently themed, even the drinks which was a nice twist :)

The following Monday my brother turn 18, he was meant to be back before his birthday but he decided to prolong his holiday, so we will celebrate when he gets back, and the Sunday after Lucy turned 18! It's so weird I still think of them as really young, ahh I sound like an old person! Haha! I hardly feel much older than 18 and now for two of my best friends and I, our brothers and sisters have turned 18. I can't believe the years are going so quickly, we're getting ready to finish Uni and they're about to start, it all feels so surreal XD
